AHA / HSI

First aid training for the emergencies that actually happen at work.

Recognize and respond to injuries and sudden illness until EMS arrives. Most groups combine it with CPR & AED in one session.

Who it's for

Workplace first-aid responders, school and daycare staff, camp counselors, coaches, facilities and security teams, and community groups.

What your team practices

  • Controlling severe bleeding, including tourniquet use
  • Shock, burns, and injuries to bones and joints
  • Allergic reactions and epinephrine auto-injectors
  • Breathing problems, including asthma
  • Seizures, stroke, fainting and diabetic emergencies
  • Heat- and cold-related emergencies

Combine it with CPR

First aid and CPR & AED run back-to-back as one session (Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED, or the HSI equivalent), so your team leaves with both cards the same day.

Why it matters. OSHA expects workplaces without nearby medical care to have someone adequately trained in first aid. The minutes before EMS arrives are when that training counts.

FAQ

First Aid questions.

Can first aid and CPR be done in one session?

Yes. Most workplace groups take First Aid and CPR & AED back-to-back and leave with both cards the same day.

Does the course cover epinephrine auto-injectors?

Yes. Students practice recognizing a severe allergic reaction and using an epinephrine auto-injector, including helping someone use their own.

What's the difference between first aid and CPR training?

CPR training covers cardiac arrest and choking. First aid covers what else can go wrong before EMS arrives: bleeding, burns, broken bones, allergic reactions, seizures, stroke and more.
